Job: 

Tractor Driver and Mechanic

Job description: 

Assist in preparation of two Ferguson TEA20 tractors for road trip. Drive one of the tractors from Auckland to Mount Cook Village. Assist with break-downs and where ever else required.

Work background: 

Worked as tractor driver and mechanic on farms. Also work as an electronics engineer for a network radio station.

Least favourite part of job: 

Driving in the rain when it’s cold.

What I am working on now: 

Making boxes to carry petrol, tools, radios and personal items.

A quick story about a job well done: 

The wiring on one of the tractors was in bad repair as it had been on fire and was not very well repaired. Removed all the wiring and started again.

A (humorous) story about a job that went badly and what you learned: 

One can get very cold when driving a tractor. Adequate clothing is essential. On one trip I forgot to take enough clothes and got so cold I had to stop and walk for a while to warm up.

Qualifications: 

Advanced trade certificate in Television and Communications.

Interests outside work: 

Family, Gardening, Photography, Tractors.
