Meet John Low

Job: 

First Officer for Air Freight NZ Ltd flying for Life Flight Wellington.

Job description: 

Flying the air ambulance out of Wellington for Life Flight.

Work background: 

Grew up in Picton, started flying at 18 at the Marlborough Aero Club in Blenheim. Have flown around New Zealand as an Instructor and Charter Pilot and have also flown in Outback Australia.

Favourite part of job: 

Going to a different place every day and getting to work with a great group of people.

Least favourite part of job: 

Seeing the effect accidents and illness can have on people and their families.

What I am working on now: 

Jetstream 32 aircraft.

A quick story about a job well done: 

Most jobs we do seem to have a positive outcome, anything where you can see the teamwork of the Pilots, Crewman, Nurses and Doctors coming together always feels like a job well done. 

Qualifications: 

Commercial Pilots Licence (NZ and Aus), Multi Engine Instrument Rating, Flight Instructor Rating. 

Interests outside work: 

Rugby, basketball, mountain biking and climbing (anything outdoors!).
