Meet Peter Spies
Job:
Chief Advisor Engineering Assurance for NZTA.
Job description:
I worked on the proposal for the Waterview project leading to the Well Connected Alliance being awarded the project in November 2011. I have an ongoing role on the project as one of two Transport Agency representatives on the Project Alliance Board and as Chairman of the Precast Sub Alliance Board, established to supply Tunnel Segments and Bridge beams to the Project.
Work background:
I have been involved in the successful delivery of over 20 of the largest roading projects undertaken in New Zealand. In 2012 I was recognised for my work through a nomination to be a Fellow of the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand.
Favourite part of job:
Seeing big projects go ahead and then finally get completed.
Qualifications:
B.Sc in Civil Engineering from the University of Natal in South Africa and Chartered Professional Registration with the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand.
